It's Already Starting (Acrobat Pro Interface Issues)

By David Dagley - November 11, 2023

Back on October 9, I wrote about the new Acrobat Pro User Interface, and how it was causing problems for users.  Adobe had at least left a menu item to "Disable new Acrobat" so users could immediately return to the interface they had grown accustomed to over decades.

In order to make a program easier to install and to reduce the amount of support emails, I recently rewrote an entire program that converts tax organizer PDFs to organizers with fillable fields.  Along with the rewrite came new instructions and videos.  Unfortunately, I neglected to consider the Acrobat Pro interface fiasco I had recently written about, and I received the first support email request.  As soon as I remoted in, I recognized the issue and toggled Acrobat Pro back to the "old" interface.  This maneuver will now go to the top of those installation instructions.

The fear of many users is that the toggle-back will eventually disappear and millions of individuals and businesses will need to revamp custom features on which they have come to depend.  Almost all the form building and automation tools available on our website rely on custom menu items and toolbar buttons for activation.  Those menu items are non-existent in the new Acrobat Pro interface.

For now, if you do not see the menu items File, Edit, View, E-Sign, Window, and Help in the top left corner of Acrobat Pro, you should toggle back to the old interface by selecting Menu > Disable new Acrobat.
